Regional 2 Tribute South West: Newton Abbot 27-33 North Petherton

NORTH Petherton Oaks played away to Newton Abbot at the weekend in what proved to be a very entertaining game for the spectators.

The match in the Regional Two Tribute South West division finished 33-27 in favour of the travelling North Petherton and it has taken them to tied fifth in the league.

It was a tough game thought game to the bitter end but North Petherton came out on top after some strong defence and quick moving offense.

Elsehwere at North Petherton RFC, the Acorns played local derby at home versus top of the league Hornets RFC Thirds.

The NP Acorns won 10-13 after a very hard fought game to take them closer to the top spot and closing the gap with Hornets III.

And finally Keynsham hosted the North Petherton Colts in a cup fixture which ended 46-7 in favour of the home side.

Keynsham scored early tries, capitalising on some North Petherton mistakes during the first half.

Unfortunately to many errors from North Petherton Colts occurred as they tried to push the game and that gave Keynsham the ability to break on turnovers and keep the score board in there favour.
