AT the weekend Blakebears RFC travelled to Bristol lead by Captain George Taylor and Tony de Berg as his vice for a match against HMP Bristol Bulls RFC.
There was eight local clubs represented in Bears fifteen making it a very strong side for sure.
HMP scored first in conditions underfoot very muddy to sat the least but Bears came back with a close quarter try from a driving maul converted by Brad Palmer.
Palmer then added another resulting from one of his customary darting run's.
Half time was a blessing with water, port and words of wisdom from captain George Taylor.
Bears scrum was resolute as was the line out, and further tries from Ben Howden clawed back but HMP turned the screw's and forged a lead which in the driving rain was not possible to get ahead by the battling bears.
There was so many stand out performances to mention but Man of the Match was Bradley Palmer.
