Western League Division One: Middlezoy Rovers 4-0 Longwell Green Sports
MIDDLEZOY Rovers bounced back after cup defeat midweek to win well over Longwell Green Sports in the Toolstation Western League Division One.
The match on Saturday was a dominant performance from Rovers as they won 4-0 in front of a strong home crowd.
In the match, goals came from Dan Lismore who scored a fine brace, Liam Gilbert with his first touch of the match and finally Liam Winter.
Winter was also awarded man of the match as he led the line well throughout the ninety minutes.
The win sees Middlezoy move to tenth place in the league table and they take on Keynsham Town on December 2.
Earlier in the week, Middlezoy were knocked out of the Les Phillips Cup by Premier Division side Barnstaple Town.
It took penalties for the favourites to win the match though as Middlezoy put in a spirited performance in which Lismore scored twice.
The match ended 2-2 and on penalties finished 8-7 in favour of Barnstaple.
Afterwards, the club said: "We tried to upset the expected but came up short. A valiant effort by a great group of local lads.
"Many thanks to those behind the scenes & those who come to watch, without you there is nothing."
