A TALENTED young cricketer helped spur Wembdon U13s to victory with five wickets in one over last week.
On Friday, May 13, Wembdon Under 13s traveled to Blagdon Cricket Club where they hosted Taunton Deane.
Wembdon posted 116-7 from 20 overs with many of the squad playing their first 11-a-side fixture.
In response, Tom Redford and Kuba Roper took early wickets.
Enter Jack Dickinson, who was brought up in Wembdon and attended Wembdon St. George’s primary school.
Jack's grandad had a hugely successful career for Wembdon and remains a life member.
Jack took a wicket with his first ball followed by a wide delivery followed by four wickets in four balls, five wickets in the over. All five were bowled. It dismissed Taunton Deane as Wembdon claimed victory.
Later this year, Wembdon Cricket Club will play a T20 cricket match against Lashings World XI on Friday June 14 at The Green, Wembdon.
