VICTORIA Park Bowls Club played host to Williton B in the West Somerset League on Thursday (May 23).
The match turned out to be one of the closest so far this season, with last end deciding who won. Williton won the match by two shots.
Mike Perry (lead), Andy Priest (2nd) and Paul Edmonds (skip) struggled to catch the visitors and lost 11- 21.
Colin Gay (lead), Patsy Priest (2nd) and Les Rayner (skip) were trailing behind the team from Williton from the start.
By playing a focused game they managed to draw level on the penultimate end and win the game 18-15.
Lynn Mead (lead), Ralph Bitcoin (2nd) and Chris Mead (skip) and the visiting team were evenly matched until the home side pulled away to dominate the game in the second half.
The Victoria team won 22-17, but it was not enough to win the match.
The Williton team took the final 3 shots to win the the match with a score of 53-51. As Victoria won two of the games, Williton took 8 league points to Victoria’s 4.
