Mick Bird and Ian Huxtable were the big winners in the Enmore Park Golf Club Seniors Section Championships, with Mick winning the Tony Pomeroy Welsh Slate Trophy with a nett 69 and Ian winning the Scott Chrystal for his lowest gross score of 80.

Vince Coombes finished second in both competitions with a steady score of 81 gross for 69 nett, narrowly losing out on countback.

Gary Mansfield nett 70 and Steve Howell gross 81, finished third respectively.

The Gents Winter League Final saw 38 teams compete in near-perfect conditions when high stableford points were the order of the day.

The pairing of Simon Kellaway and Rob Chilcott succeeded in doing so the most with a magnificent 47 points. This was even more remarkable, considering they scored zero points on the 11th hole.

The consistent pair of Jon Richardson and Darren Hill edged out Chris Sealey and Russell Peck on countback for second place, with both teams scoring 46 points. Rob Fear and Richard Sykes picked up fourth place on countback with 44 points.

Sean Jones won the heavily affected league format and Bob Read with 248 points. It was a great effort, considering the weather we had during the winter.

Angie Bowden's tremendous 23 points, with six 3-point holes, secured a three-point victory on week 14 of the Tuesday 9 Hole Summer league. Rob Fear continued his Winter League Final form with 20 points, which pipped five others on countback. League leader Tony Seaman also scored 20 points with Martyn Clapp, Dylan Nyce, Duncan Peaster and Marc Crossley all matching the same total.

The top three in the league still consist of Tony Seaman, who has 220 points, Rob Chilcott, who has 209 points, and Neil Wicks, who has 203 points.

Darren Dean, with a nett 66, won the Monks Cup Over 55 competition with a nett 66. Adrian Ley was second on countback from Carl Netto after both returned with 69.
