Another defeat for Middlezoy Rovers leaves them second from bottom of the South West Peninsula League Premier East after four games.

Rovers welcomed Cullompton Rovers to Berry Pavilion in their latest league game as they aimed to secure the club’s first win of the season.

The first half was lacking in action but both goalkeepers were tested just before the break. The sides went in at half time 0-0.

The visitors took the lead on 65 minutes when a corner was headed home and as Rovers pushed for an equaliser, Cullompton scored on the break way with seven minutes to go.

Middlezoy managed to half the arrears with a minute of normal time remaining when Charlie Bridges scored but the equaliser proved elusive.

Next up, Rovers face Teignmouth AFC at home on Saturday (September 14).
