On the morning of Saturday, September 14, North Petherton Men played in the semi-final of the Wedmore Plate against Ashcombe Park at Ashcombe Park and won 68 - 53, which advanced them to the final played in the afternoon.
The final was played against Purnells B.C. who play in the division above them in the County League, and were therefore favourites, in a close match North Petherton won 69 - 61.
This was the first county knockout competition the club have won.
North Petherton Ladies also had a good week, winning both the M&B Challenge Cup and the Margaret Badcock Shield.
These are played over 2 legs, home and away, against Taunton Deane and Taunton respectively.
Against Taunton Deane the overall score was 93 -83, and against Taunton the overall score was 116 - 100.
In other matches, the Ladies played their last Wessex ladies Lge. match away at Ashcombe Park, where they won 73 - 55, and the club played their last Mixed Friendly match at South Petherton and won 71 - 66.
