On Sunday, 48 Enmore Park Golf Club members participated in the weekend's Ryder Cup, a mixed competition. The weather was kind to everyone, although autumnal and slightly cool, everyone stayed dry.

This popular cocktail of six Better Balls, six Greensomes, and six Foursomes was a two-part competition: the trophy awarded to the pair with the most Stableford points and the team competition between the Club Captain and Lady Captain, Rhys and Tina Morgan.

The Results were very close, so close in fact that all the prizes had to be decided by countback. The trophy winners were Ed and Julie Ingram, who scored 38 points, pipped Alison and Barrie Greenslade, who returned with the same score.

The following two places were just as close, and in the end, third place went to Neil and Shanni Whisler, who just beat John Payne and Suzanne Boydell, who both scored 37 points.

Lady Captain Tina Morgan was delighted that her team beat Club Captain and husband Rhys Morgan in the team competition. The blue team's triumph earned them a small prize in recognition of their efforts.

This was the last of the mixed golf trophy competitions for the year, but once again, it proved a lovely event with a great atmosphere in the clubhouse.

The final mixed golf competition is a Mixed Texas Scramble—Draw for Partners—9 Holes, followed by a festive meal, and it will take place on Sunday, December 8th, 2024.

Last week, Enmore Park Seniors' match played a match against their Isle of Wedmore counterparts. Despite the valiant effort put in by the  Enmore team, the resilient Wedmore team ran out the winners 4-2.

The winning teams for Enmore were Seniors Captain Chris Willsteed and Dave Clayton, while the other successful duo were Steve Wilcox and Tim Smith. Dave Clayton won the nearest-the-pin award.

Isle of Wedmore was presented with a trophy for being overall winners over the home and away fixtures, a bottle presented last year by their Captain for nearest the pin to an Enmore player. The bottle of "wine" was a source of considerable amusement to both teams.

Sadly, due to the weather, all club competitions were cancelled.
