A young boxer from Bridgwater travelled to South Wales to compete in the Ware-House Box Cup and came back with the gold medal.

12 year old Mileigh Addicott who boxes out of the Sydenham Amateur boxing gym in Bridgwater travelled to Swansea last weekend to compete in the Ware-House Box Cup. This competition seen boxers from all around Britain and even Europe compete to become the champion of each age and weight category.

Mileigh was up against a very tough opponent from Plymouth in the final. Her opponent had not yet tasted defeat. It was always going to be a tough task. But Mileigh performed excellently throughout all 3 rounds to win via a unanimous points decision. 

Callum James, of Sydenham ABC, said: "Her progress is really starting to show, and the future is bright for this young talent! At the slender age of just 12 Mileigh has now competed 15 times in Sydenham colours. She is ranked number 2 in England, Won a Silver medal in Sweden at Europe’s largest amateur competition and now she has just added this gold medal to the collection."
