GEMS had a competitive game against a strong Vivary team, who are currently in second place in the Premier Division.
Vivary started at a fast and accurate pace, however, Gems kept them at bay for a while with tight defending particularly from Beth Fella and Rachel Lawrence.
Occasional weak passing allowed Vivary to intercept, and with their shooters on form they stretched their lead to 28 – 17 at half time.
A strong performance from player of the match Amy Witcombe throughout the second half, ensured that Gems remained in the game, and Vivary worked hard for their 53 – 35 win.
Overall, it was a better team performance from Gems.
