THERE was plenty of action in the Uxella League on Sunday as teams in the two divisions went head-to-head in the battle for points.

In Division I, Tiger Old Boys drew 2-2 with Quantock Pride after a header from Adam Long and a direct corner from Ian Bellinger brought Tigers from 2-0 behind.

Woolavington’s one goal from Gary Head did little to dent the 1-6 win for Red Tile. Jason McPheat, Steve Hall, Jack Taylor and Adam Chappell scored one each and Lance Turner picked up two.

Abbey Moor went down 3-4 Maltshovel despite goals from Joe Dale, Steve Njie and Andy Roberts.

NM Sports won 3-2 in their match against Blake OB in Division 2. Goals from Russ McCaul, James Pedder and Matthew Parker saw NM Sports 3-0 up, but they had to withstand a storm at the end as leaders Blake came roaring back at them.

A last minute goal saw Middlezoy win 4-3 against New Foresters on Sunday. Two goals from Nathan Barnard and one from James Lacey for Middlezoy matched one each from Foresters’ Aaron Chidgey, Leighton Davies and Ben Whittet, until the last minute winner from James Millard sealed three points for Middlezoy.

Puriton went down 2-6 to Grasshoppers. Rob Trice and Jon Latham picked dup one each from Puriton and Adam Knight, Dan Saunders, Sam Weston, Nigel Gillard, George Weston and Les Pope made up Grasshoppers’ winning six.

Two goals from Phil Court could not quite match the opposition as Ramblers lost 2-3 to Admirals. Dave Preece, Paul Toogood and Matt Francis each scored one goal for the winning team.

Maxwells drew 2-2 in their game against Huntspill. Dave Baker and Lee Goss each picked up one for Maxwells.

The match between Knowle and Highburn was postponed.
