Bridgwater suffered their first defeat of the season when they came up against a strong defensive Bradford side.
Bradford scored within 15 minutes of the first half and again just five minutes later to have a 2-0 lead at half-time.
Bridgwater pushed forward and dominated the rest of the game but missed chance after chance to score. Manager Ben Norman put it down to able defenders and goalkeeper.
He said: “It’s a disappointing result. We are not used to losing and it’s the first defeat of the season and first in the league in over 15 months.
“But we need to win the next five games to win the league and it’s in our hands. I think the defeat was down to a bit of bad luck – sometimes there comes a time when you can’t score.”
Bridgwater Town will be playing its reserve team next Saturday in what promises to be an entertaining match.
Ben added: “I think it will be a thoroughly entertaining game. We have got to treat them with respect. It will be a great spectacle for the club.”
