THREE Bridgwater Cricket Club players are currently enjoying club cricket down under for two Australian sides.

Stuart Butt and brothers Michael and Andrew Skidmore jetted out to play played Grade cricket in Adelaide back in September as part of Bridgwater Cricket Club’s connection with the Southern Australian city, which was formed in 1988.

Butt and Andy Skidmore are turning out for Northern Districts CC while Mike plays for Adelaide Turf Premier side Modbury CC.

All three became honorary members of the ‘Barmy Army’ for the second test at the Adelaide Oval, where the England team romped to a superb victory over their arch rivals.

The trio are looking forward to the second half of the season and returning to the UK in good form for Bridgwater’s pre-season in April, which begins with home friendly matches against Ashcott & Shapwick and North Petherton.

Other Bridgwater cricketers who have headed in the opposite direction are Mike Coles, Andy Hallaran, Josh Vickery and Ian Higgins, all playing at the Prospect District Cricket Club, which was Andy Frick’s former Club.
