Bridgwater Town’s troubled season got a massive lift with probably their most successful week of 2010/11.

Town will travel to Bideford on Tuesday in buoyant mood after gaining two wins and six points in the space of five days.

Bridgwater followed up a gritty 2-1 win at Abingdon United last Tuesday with an impressive 4-0 trouncing of North Leigh at Fairfax Park yesterday.

Left-sided midfielder George Brimson made an impressive debut as Bridgwater came from behind to beat Abingdon, and then scored twice in yesterday's win.

Another debutant, Kyle Thomas, was also impressive, after coming off the bench midway through the first half yesterday to replace the injured Josh Turner.

Bridgwater Town manager Rob Dray said: “It’s been a great week for the club. We’ve played some of our best stuff of the season.

“The two new lads made great debuts. Brimson is a good prospect.

"I’ve been tracking him for a while. He is an out and out leftie which is what we need.

“Kyle did really well on Saturday when he came on after Josh got a knock just above the ankle.

“Everybody just did their jobs on Saturday.

"If you work hard and add a bit of passion, then anything extra technically is going to stand out.

“It was great to win at home as well, because we’ve lost ten games at home and our form at Fairfax Park is something we’ve really got to work on.

“The fans have been very patient so they will have enjoyed that.

“I really want to thank the management, too - Millie, Perks and Andy Gurney – they deserve a pat on the back for the work they’re putting in.”

Neil Peek and Matt Townley, who missed Saturday’s game, will also be missing at Bideford on Tuesday.

Next Saturday, Bridgwater are away at Paulton Rovers.
