Bridgwater were determined to do well against a Winscombe side only a point ahead in the table.
Kath Briggs led up front with characteristic strong play and Bridgwater enjoyed a 20-minute spell of real pressure in the Winscombe D.
The goalkeeper thwarted many attacks until Kira calmly lifted the ball into the net following several strikes.
Ann-Marie Coate, Emma Hill, Janine and Georgie pressured Winscombe and the defence of Donna, Rachael and Bridget closed down any attacking play.
Emma scored at the post following a corner to give Bridgwater a 2-0 win.
Bridgwater pressed forward but a quick break left the leaders overrun in defence and Winscombe slotted the ball clinically into the net.
Not long after the goal, Winscombe were awarded a short corner and, although the first strike was saved, they gathered the rebound and scored the equaliser.
