North Petherton travelled to St Clements Hill without injured utility back James Carter, which forced them to field first team prop Sam Williams at centre.

The game did not start well with first-up tackles being missed and a lack of variety in the lineouts meant that good ball was hard to come by.

It was an even affair for most of the first half, with North Petherton just about scraping the territorial advantage until Truro's back row were caught offside at a ruck, meaning Harry Roberts was able to slot over an easy penalty to give North Petherton the lead.

The visitors made a hash of a ruck on 35 minutes and gave away a penalty, which Truro duly dispatched to level the scores.

Ping-pong kicking after the restart led to Truro's centre to stride in out wide from 25-metres and score. The conversion was missed and Truro went in to half-time 8-3 ahead.

North Petherton struggled to gain shape in the second half but stern tackling from Angel and powerful counter mauling from Mike Coles gave the visitors some hope.

Dan Wynn made his debut by replacing Matt Brown on 55 minutes and Daniel Pearse replaced Tracey at scrum half, which Harley Brown replacing McNeillie.

Truro looked certain for the win until the 80th minute when new boy Wynn secured an excellent ball from the line-out, set up a rolling maul, and played the ball to Cox for a touch down.

Roberts converted and gave North Petherton a last-gasp 10-8 win.
