Bridgwater had a tough game on Saturday, and despite six corners in the first 20 minutes, saw the final whistle seal the 4-0 loss.

The team always knew it would be a tough game against Sholing, who are sat second from top of the table.

Manager Rob Dray said: “There are a good side and not top of the league for nothing.

“They had quality in the last third, while at times I thought we were toothless. 4-0 speaks for itself, really.”

Bridgwater are still finding their feet as a team, and hope to iron out some basic problems.

Dray added: “We are a work in progress and are not the finished side yet.

“I always believe we can get a good result when we play well.

“If one or two players have a bad game you can get away with it, but not four or five.

“But we offer no excuses. If you don’t do the basics, you will be in trouble.

“Now we just have to bounce on a little bit.”

Hopefully, Bridgwater will bounce in the right direction when they face Almondsbury Town away on Wednesday before playing Hungerford Town away on Saturday.
