NEPTUNE played local team Gems and in the first quarter both teams were quite evenly matched, finishing with Gems ahead 14-10.
With Amy Whitcombe making strong passes into the shooters, Gems continued to lead by four goals at half-time.
With some changes to both teams, Neptune applied the pressure. Long passes from Hazel Hucker (WD) to Chris Durant (C ) progressed play quickly down the court. Neptune continued to increase the pace and Gems’ defensive play prevented Neptune from pushing ahead.
Players of the match were Chris Durant and Hazel Hucker for Neptune and Helen Martin, Gemma Thorne and Amy Whitcombe for Gems.
