MARS experienced only their third defeat of the season at Minstrels.
Mars started well and were only a goal down after the first quarter, 10-11.
In the second quarter Mars kept the pressure on with some great centre court play, which witnessed some fantastic interceptions and passes from both Jade Edwards(C) and Hollie Cornish (WD). The quarter ended with Mars just two down.
The third quarter saw a lull in Mars’ play, although this didn’t deter Emily Page-Symonds (GD) or Coleen Bartlett (GK) from battling to stop Minstrels scoring.
Minstrels still led at the close of the third quarter, 28-23.
In the final quarter, Mars stepped up their game and made one last push in order to narrow Minstrel’s lead. Elaine Bartlett (WA) continued to feed into the circle with her outstanding passes. Norah Lewis (GA) and Paige Langdon (GS) were determined with their movement and shots in the circle.
Mars never gave up the fight but unfortunately it was not enough to win the game. Player of the match was Jade Edwards.
