MARS started the game with some changes to their team.
During the first quarter, Mars were finding their feet and this was reflected in the score, 11-5 to Mars. The second quarter witnessed a rapid increase in goals and with Mars’ game play now established, they went from strength to strength. There were some fantastic manoeuvres and interceptions from Emma Reynolds alongside the defensive pressure of Raglan Meredith and Mars proved at times to be too powerful for the opposition.
With the half-time score 23-9 to Mars, Jade Edwards and Karis Holleran put some precise shots into the net, ensuring Mars widened the gap. Elaine Bartlett’s strong, accurate passes into the shooters was paramount to Mars’ 38-16 lead. The defence was solid throughout the game, making it impossible for Ambers to score.
Both Emily Page-Symonds and Coleen Bartlett played with skill and determination, contributing to the 50-19 win.
Player of the match: Jade Edwards.
