SYDENHAM ABC’s Jim Logsdon was unfortunate to fall to a defeat against Calne ABC’s Jason O’Sullivan in Bristol.
34-year-old Jim, from Othery, was competing in his debut bout in the new masters class, for 34- to 40-year-olds.
O’Sullivan came out confident and used his long jab to catch Logsdon on the chin but the Sydenham boxer moved his head, doubled his jab to land it on O’Sullivan’s nose.
The bout became heated with solid combos being thrown. Following a sluggish third round, with both boxers tiring, the judges gave the bout to O’Sullivan on majority points.
18-year-old Anthony Collins took on Duane Winters from the Empire gym in Bristol.
With both boxers notching nearly 80 bouts between them, Collins came out using his reach advantage with fast straight combinations.
Winters tried to tie Collins up to slow him down but Collins let go with some solid body hooks which hurt Winters and forced the ref to give the Bristolian a standing count in the second round.
Collins continued the tempo and won the bout on unanimous points.
Josh Nobbs, 14, took on a boxer from Kingswood ABC. Josh dictated the fight and won the bout on majority points.
