North Petherton travelled to promotion rivals Wells with a win the only result that would keep them in the promotion hunt.
The visitors started off well but struggled in the scrum against a solid forward unit.
With Tom Williams and Matt Foad at ten and 12, North Petherton looked very solid in defence and attacked well when the opportunities arose.
They led at half time 12-3 through the boot of fly-half Tom Williams.
Despite playing down the slope in the second half, North Petherton failed to a score despite having chances.
Wells brought the game back to 12-9 through two more penalties. With six minutes to go an explosive fight broke out which galvanized North Petherton.
But despite the chance to seal victory, Wells went back up the slope and North Petherton gave away a needless penalty which the home side's reliable kicker duly slotted over.
A 12-12 draw in reflection is a fair result although North Petherton should be disappointed at not securing victory.
