Bridgwater travelled to Nailsea and were faced with played on a 3G pitch.
With longer pile than normal Astroturf, Bridgwater quickly had to adapt to the conditions as hitting and dribbling require more effort and attention.
Nailsea attacked the Bridgwater D with frequent runs down the right flank and Bridgwater kept out several short corner attempts.
Suze Dawe and Hayley Greenwell worked well together on the left side supplying numerous balls for Lorraine Hollidge and Sheila Burridge to try and get to grips with.
In spite of going close on a few occasions, neither team could get the final touch to place the ball home.
Bridgwater were up for the challenge after a goalless first half and dominated play in midfield, with Charlie Lewis and Heidi Martin taking command of the ball.
The pressure paid off when Greenwell slammed home from a penalty corner.
Lucy Burridge supplied the cross for Hollidge to sweet home beautifully and give Bridgwater a 2-0 lead.
