THE fourth string tried to break a long losing streak and gain some momentum going into the close of the season against Taunton Vale.
Bridgwater tried to push Vale from the beginning but the Taunton side proved to be the better team as they pressed.
Taunton Vale scored before half time with a short corner that was well defended but a miss hit shot fell to an open striker, who put the ball in.
Rawles, Stone and Hobbs were tough tackling in midfield for Bridgwater and several goal line clearances by Morrish, Dyte and Rawles meant it was only 1-0 at half time.
Bridgwater were torn apart by two quick goals from Taunton shortly after the restart.
A good run by Blackmore led to a Turner goal for Bridgwater and they started to press with Cook only just missing a shot on goal.
The pressure was not enough as Vale took the initiative to score two more and Cook scored a simple tap in thanks to work by Hobbs.
Man of the match: Turner
