Venus 36, Knaves 36 VENUS began very strongly, which was due to great attacking play by Cath Clark and Chris Shaw, taking a first quarter lead of 11-10.

Knaves improved their game in the second quarter to take the lead but some great interceptions by Emily Rowland kept Venus in touch with Knaves' play, trailing 18-20 at half time.

In the third quarter, Knaves continued to pressure Venus's passes, forcing mistakes in the attacking end. However, Venus persevered and a change in tactical play by Paige Langdon and Sammy Kemmish within the circle, as well as great support by Michelle Stone, kept Venus in the game, 28-29.

In the final quarter, the game was still evenly matched but Venus gained the lead again due to strong defensive play by Julie McClean and Hannah Symes. Knaves continued to battle though, and the game finished with a rare but fair draw.

Jupiter 61, Saturn 34 TWO of Bridgwater's Premiership sides met on Saturday.

Saturn started well with excellent feeding into the circle by Lisa Allen but Jupiter soon picked up their game and capitalised on loose balls to end the quarter 18-7 up.

Saturn rallied in the second with strong defending from Beckie Cowley. However, Jupiter led 30-17 at half-time.

Excellent feeding by Jupiter's Baylea Charles into Paige Davey produced some outstanding play from both players. Despite a valiant effort from Saturn's Katie Cheese, Jupiter ran out winners.

Saturn's player of the match was Lisa Allen.

Neptune 50, Vivary 64 NEPTUNE knew they would be facing the wrath of Vivary following the Taunton side's defeat to Jupiter in the cup final seven days earlier.

However, Neptune surprised the home team with sharp team play throughout the court to lead 16-14 at quarter time.

Neptune kept the pressure on their top of the table opponents, with accurate feeds into the shooters by Dawn Fothergill.

Vivary, just 31-29 ahead at half time, realised their predicament and upped their game in all areas of the court, which saw them totally dominant for the next 15 minutes.

However, super defensive work from Hazel Hucker, Emma Downes and player of the match, Steph Carlin, ensured Neptune finished the game in high spirits, ending the final period the same way they started. Despite losing, Neptune had an excellent game.

Venus 46, Queensway 17 DUE to a school tournament, Venus were missing players so they started the game with a different team in all areas of the court. The new shooting line up of Lianne Fothergill and Hannah Symes took a little while to settle into the game but strong defending by Julie McClean and Coleen Bartlett kept Venus ahead 7-5 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, great play by Hollie Cornish and Emily Rowlands, as well as sharp passing down the court saw Venus extend their lead to 19-5. Venus continued to increase their lead in the third period due to timely interceptions by player of the match Michelle Stone who defended tirelessly throughout the game to ensure that Venus maintained a comfortable lead of 30-14 going into the final quarter. Venus's aim to stop Queensway getting a point succeeded with some great team play.
