WEMBDON Saints under-9s kept their nerve in a tense penalty shootout to win the cup final.
In a closely contested first half of their semi-final against Tone Youth, goals from Archie Sturdy, Will Baker and Tyler Lane saw Wembdon run out 3-1 winners to reach the final to face Minehead, the only unbeaten team in the league this season.
Minehead went ahead through an early penalty and could have added to their lead but for some last ditch defending.
As time ran out a long clearance by Wembdon found Will who pulled it back for Archie. His fierce shot was spilt by the keeper and Lucas Clark bundled the ball over the line with less than two minutes to go.
With no winner forthcoming in extra time the game went to spot kicks and Wembdon kept their heads to win 2-0 and claim victory.
