Bridgwater Dirt Trackers were the only Albion side playing on Saturday but their performance stole the show anyway.

With the Albion first and second teams having no scheduled match it was down to the third team to show what they were made of, and they responded in style.

The visitors kicked off but immediately the ball was stolen and Bridgwater scored a try within a minute which was converted by Jonathan Frost to set the hosts on their way.

It took another 17 minutes before Bridgwater extended their lead when Karl Stuckes ran up the field evading several tackles to receive the ball and score, with Frost unable to convert.

Just two minutes later Dave Rae scored outrunning several players to touch down under the posts, this time Frost converted.

After 25 minutes Karl Stuckes scored again after working his way through the defence and Frost’s resulting kick was good.

Stuckes did virtually the exact same thing again nine minutes later to score again but this time Frost could not convert his kick.

Simon Butt then got in on the act two minutes later to score with Frost converting making the score 38-0 to Bridgwater at half time.

Within five minutes of the re-start Jamie Forrest added yet another try to the tally but with Bridgwater playing into the wind Frost could not convert the kick.

After ten minutes Cridland made way for Ian Grubb and he made his mark straight away scoring but again Frost failed to convert.

Five minutes later Simon Hill scored with Frost missing the conversion, and then 28 minutes into the second period Lee Burrows scored an uncoverted try with Bridgwater running riot.

With four minutes of this most one-sided match left Jonathan Frost completed the rout with the fifth try of the second half, but he could not convert.

This was a first class performance from Bridgwater who made sure every player got a run out with Hale making way for Pike, Dan Page came off for Mike Berry who marked a milestone making his 1540th appearance for the club, Ruddle came off for Dave Norman, and there was a complete reshuffle in the second row.

Bridgwater are due to play away at Tor this Saturday before hosting Castle Cary on April 16.
